Before Cole ever stopped my heart by dropping down on one knee in Seattle, my wedding was planned. I say my wedding, because as the wedding became ours, and I let go of a few of my dreamy Pins, I realized that we could create much more beautifully, together. But the one thing I knew I needed, and several other brides validated, was an amazing photographer.
On the vendor priority list, the photographer is right behind the venue for most. But for me, this person and their talent, their eye, their editing style, their heart really – was the single most important part of the day – aside from us actually coming together as one, surrounded by the love and warmth of our families.
For me, choosing a photographer felt like signing away a part of myself. Is it weird to say a photographer gives you butterflies? When I came across Christin Hume Photography on Facebook, I immediately clicked over to Instagram and spent over an hour pouring through her work. At the time, she hadn’t even been shooting a year. Most brides would have stopped there.
But her images dripped in the dark moody neutrals that I love so much, and her captions completely sold me. Before I ever even hit the contact button on her dreamy website, I knew that all of my wedding hopes, dreams, and visions would be held within Christin’s Canon 5D Mark IV.
She loves Jesus, she loves dogs, and she loves people. She is raw, she is open, and in a world of sleek, shiny plastic-coated perfection, she is genuine. She and her husband Chris are truly a beautiful representation of team work and the Joy of The Lord. Recently, Chris joined Christin as the second-shooter for most of her weddings, and I could not have been happier with him helping capture our special day. Like Christin, Chris is a Creative, and is working on a new logo for my blog! You can check him out on Etsy, here.
A portion of each wedding they shoot funds The Archibald Project, an organization that advocates for orphans through storytelling. Cole’s mom is adopted, and my heart has always burned for children without homes. We were so happy to have a small part in helping these sweet babies through our wedding.
As if all of these reasons were not enough, Christin and I attended the same high school before she graduated and moved to Austin, Texas where she and her husband continue to build their beautiful life with their two dogs, June and Wonder! Though we didn’t know each other in school, I thought this was the sweetest little connection.
The Hume’s shot another wedding the day after ours. But just two days later, Christin delivered our gorgeous sneak-peek, full of perfectly edited images, and several specially curated images for me to use in an upcoming collaboration with Minted. I requested this list of specific photos less than a week before the wedding and Christin was more than happy to accommodate!
The Hume’s are incredibly responsive through email, and Instagram, and I loved working with them! They travel all over so no where is out of reach! Christin is currently running a 15% off New Year sale with code: NEWYEAR15. Check her out on Instagram, and take advantage of this offer -it only lasts two days!
Please let me know if you have any questions about working with them before inquiring, I would absolutely love to help! I’m an open book!
